more about Carina Molier (english)

In her theatrework she crosses the borders between theatre, film, plastic arts and music. By using different disciplines and new technological possibilities she creates theatrical ‘trips’, based mainly on documentary realities.Another manner of working is the transformation of her observations into reflective, interactive videoinstallations.

Together with Toneelgroep Amsterdam, she created the succesfull multimedia performances Ruigoord 1 and 2. In a huge multimedia house consisting out of two floors and a lot of rooms the audience, while walking around the house, could witness how a cultguru, supported by a group of soulmates and a range of cameras, tried to register the death of his mother on the internet and to upload her brain for the future.

Based on a series of theatrical interviews Carina Molier held with outstanding scientists, artists and philosophers (Hotelroom 2012) she recently created a multimediaproject called ‘House of the Future’. ‘House of the Future’ is a fictive reality tv-show on stage: a group of philosophers, scientists and artists, observed by a large number of cameras, retires from the outside world to develop new ways of living and thinking for the nearby future.

Together with Maria Mok and SNG-film she is now developing the documentary  My Long distance friendGasthuis Frascati  produced her new film Zorn. Zorn has been presented in november 2008 during the Breakin’Walls Festival. A tour will follow.

After her study medical pedagogy in Leiden she graduated in 1091 from the ‘Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten’, department of theatre directing.
